Questions?
Everything you might want to know before letting Sentinel loose on your server.
General
What is Sentinel?expand_more
An AI personality that lives in your Discord. It jumps into conversations, roasts people (in good fun), remembers your regulars, reacts to images, sends private DMs, and runs server-wide events. Less a "command bot," more a character that hangs out in your community.
Is it free?expand_more
Yes — Sentinel's core personality is free for everyone, with a daily reply allowance. VIP, credits, and boosts are optional upgrades; we never lock the actual personality behind a paywall.
How old do I have to be?expand_more
You must meet Discord's minimum age (13+, or older where your local law requires). Sentinel isn't intended for children under 13.
Sentinel roasted me. Is that allowed?expand_more
That's the whole point — Sentinel is a comedic, in-character personality and its output is for entertainment. It's not advice, and it doesn't represent anyone's real views. If something crosses a line for you, you can opt out of DMs and reach us via Support.
Pricing & VIP
How much is VIP, and what do I get?expand_more
VIP is $5/month. You get double the daily replies (30 vs 15), priority, and a much richer private DM experience — including Sentinel's Agent State Memory, where it keeps a running memory of your conversation so it genuinely remembers the flow.
What are credits?expand_more
Credits are a fallback. Once your daily reply limit is used up, Sentinel spends 1 credit per reply automatically. They never expire, and they work whether you're free or VIP.
How is billing handled? Can I cancel?expand_more
All billing runs securely through Discord — we never see or store your card details. Cancel VIP anytime; you keep your benefits through the end of the period you've paid for.
How do refunds work?expand_more
Purchases go through Discord, so refunds follow Discord's refund policy and are handled by Discord. Consumed credits and used boosts are generally non-refundable. See our VIP / Subscription Terms.
Boosts
What's a boost?expand_more
A one-time, time-limited power-up. Individual boosts upgrade just you (e.g. extra DM budget). Community boosts are the fun part — one person buys, and the whole server gets the benefit for a window.
What can a community boost do?expand_more
Crank Sentinel up server-wide ("Overclock"), shift its mood for a few hours ("Mood Shift"), top up everyone's daily replies ("Round of Drinks"), or open a capability window like Vision Hour. Great for game nights and events.
Do boosts remove Sentinel's limits or safety rules?expand_more
No. Boosts only change intensity, mood, duration, and caps — never safety rules. Community boosts are also capped to keep things fair and stable.
Privacy & Data
What data does Sentinel store?expand_more
Your Discord user ID and username, plus things it observes to personalize replies (notes, DM history, relationship signals). No emails, IP addresses, or real names. Full detail in our Privacy Policy.
Does my conversation go to an AI provider?expand_more
Sentinel's responses are generated on our own hardware. Some behind-the-scenes tasks may use a third-party AI provider; we disclose exactly what and when in our Privacy Policy.
Can I see or delete my data?expand_more
Yes. You can request a copy or deletion of your data anytime, and you can opt out of DMs. Start on our Your Data page.
For Server Owners
Can I add Sentinel to my own server?expand_more
Sentinel is currently rolling out to new communities by invite. Request early access and we'll be in touch — see For Server Owners.
What does it need to run?expand_more
Standard Discord permissions to talk, react, and run its private temp channels. A few features (like in-game Player Dossiers) are specific to game communities with a connected game database. See Get Started.
